The Pi Disc
In Ancient Chinese, the round Pi Disc and Square Ts'ung Tube weredesigned to accommodate the belief that the heaven was round and the earth was square. Both were important ritual objects. The round shape of the Pi is said to derive from the circular path that the sun follows in the sky. The central hole of the disc represent the eternally fixed Pole star and the principle of the Absolute. The belief in the round Pi disk assisting the spirit in reaching the heavens received its greatest support at ancient Chinese.
